Product Overview
The Cisco SFP-25G-SR-S is a 25GBASE-SR SFP28 optical transceiver module designed for high-speed data center and enterprise networking applications. Operating at 850nm over multimode fiber (MMF), it delivers up to 25.78 Gbps with a maximum reach of 70m on OM3 and 100m on OM4/OM5 fiber. The module features an 850nm VCSEL transmitter, a PIN photodiode receiver, built-in clock and data recovery (CDR), and Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM/DDM) for real-time diagnostics. It is hot-pluggable, uses a duplex LC connector interface, and draws less than 1.0W of power — making it ideal for dense, high-efficiency spine-leaf switch fabrics, 25G server uplinks, and short-run MMF-based topologies. Fully compliant with IEEE 802.3by, SFP28 MSA, SFF-8431/8432, and RoHS standards. Note: This module requires RS-FEC (Reed-Solomon Forward Error Correction) on the host ports.
